ABOUT CHARLIE & BELL

[ENG] Charlie & Bell Blues Experience are a blues roots duo based in Solin/Split, Croatia. They where the winners of the 13th Croatian Blues Challenge, and as such they represented Croatia at 39th International Blues Challenge in January 2024 in Memphis, USA

In April 2024, they performed at the 12th European Blues Challenge held in Braga, Portugal, where they achieved success by entering the final in which the 8 best out of 21 blues bands from as many European countries performed.

They are very frequent at blues festivals and other big blues events and have played at almost all big blues festivals in Croatia, namely:

- Split Blues Festival 2021 and 2022
- 5th Thrill blues festival 2022
- Jerry Ricks Blues Festival 2022
- Pirovac Blues Festival 2022 and 2023
- Cittanova Blues Festival challenge 2023

So far, they have held a large number of very successful concerts and gigs, for example as a resident blues band all season 2021/22 once a week in the popular Baraka bar in Split, they were also once a week almost all summer in 2021 and 2022 as a resident blues duo in the Galerija bar in the center Split. They are also regulars in other places where blues is played, such as Old School Bar (Split), Dreamers bar (Split), Red Lion Pub (Kaštela), Tap Jaz (Biograd), Republica Bono (Šibenik), Guitar Bar (Split), K2 (Viganj), Harats Bar (Split) etc, etc

The music they perform is based on blues roots classics and original blues standards, but they also have own songs (Album cooming soon). As well they play covers of newer songs that are adapted to the blues sound that this duo play. Different variations of the blues are intertwined in their interpretations, from the original Delta blues to the styles of Memphis, New Orleans, Chicago and Texas.
[CRO] Charlie & Bell Blues Experience su root blues duo bazirani u Splitu. Pobjednici su 13. Croatian Blues Challengea, te su kao takvi predstavljali Hrvatsku na 39th International Blues Challenge u sječnje 2024 u Memphisu, SAD.

U travnju 2024 nastupili su na 12th European Blues Challenge održanom u Bragi, Portugal, gdje su polučili uspjeh ulaskom u finale u kojemu je nastupilo 8 najboljih od 21 izvođača iz toliko europskih država.

Charlie & Bell su česti gosti na blues festivalima i drugim velikim blues događanjima, te su do sada nastupali na većini prestižnih blues festivala u Hrvatskoj, i to:

- Split Blues Festival 2021. i 2022
- 5. Thrill blues festival 2022
- Jerry Ricks Blues Festival 2022
- Pirovac Blues Festival 2022 i 2023
- Cittanova Blues Festival challenge 2023

Do sada su održali velik broj vrlo uspješnih samostalnih koncerata i nastupa posebice u Dalmaciji i Zagrebu ali i šire, te su tako stekli popularnost. Njihovi nastupi su veoma dobro posjećeni a posebno su popularni u Splitu i Dalmaciji gdje su i održali najveći broj nastupa u klubovima / barovima u kojima se svira, sluša i uživa u bluesu. Primjerice jednu cijelu sezonu (2021/22) su nastupali kao rezidentni blues bend jednom tjedno u veoma popularnom splitskom Baraka baru, te su bili jednom tjedno gotovo cijelo ljeto 2021. i 2022. kao rezidentni blues duo u Galerija baru u centru Splita, itd. Redoviti su i na drugim popularnim mjestima kao što su Old School Bar (Split), Dreamers bar (Split), Red Lion Pub (Kaštela), Tap Jaz (Biograd), Republica Bono (Šibenik), Guitar Bar (Split), K2 (Viganj, Peljašac), Guštaona (Zaton), Ko-To (Pučišća, Brač), Rock Pork (Kaštela) itd. U Zagrebu su nastupali u Hard Place gdje su i osvojili Blues Challenge, te u Booze & Blues i Grof Melin u Tkalčićevoj, te drugim mjestima.

Glazba koju izvode bazirana je na root blues klasicima i izvornim blues standardima, ali nadje se tu i vlastitih kompozicija (Album u pripremi), kao i obrada novijih stvari koje su prilagođene blues zvuku koji ovaj dvojac njeguje. U njihovim interpretacijama isprepliću se različite varijacije bluesa, od izvornog Delta bluesa do Memphisa, New Orleansa, Chicaga i Texasa stilova.
